Don't Pray in Vain! Copyright Lia Scott Price Miserable with life? Too many problems to pray about? Do you pray for an end to your suffering? Wish you were dead? Do you whine to your Guardian Angel? BEFORE YOU DO......A PRAYER CAN COST YOU YOUR LIFE. So go ahead. Invoke a Guardian Angel. Just don't whine. That's how they find you. They may just end your pain for you. And make it look like you killed yourself. In a series of controversial novels about the kind of Guardian Angels you don't want to pray to, Lia Scott Price introduces her new breed of serial killers and vampires in a disturbing and controversial form: Guardian Angels. Her Guardian angels are either serial/mercy killers, or vampires who answer prayers by killing those who are desperate enough to pray for an end to their problems. So read if you dare. Lia scott Price's Guardian Angel Characters are not your typical white-winged, white-robed, halo-wearing, benevolent beings. They're something much more sinister and scarier. 
Some days, Guardian Angels just go psycho after all our whining. People believe that Guardian Angels walk among us everyday. The popular belief is that Angels look just like humans.....except for those wings...... People also believe that angels ‘show up’ when we ‘invoke’ or pray to them to help us with our troubles It is said that a Guardian Angel's purpose is to watch us on a constant basis and to rescue us in the nick of time from a disaster, to look out for our safety, and that each person has a personal Guardian Angel assigned to them to protect them. Guardian Angels have been popularized by American Consumerism. Guardian Angels are believed to have been assigned as protectors against evil. Some believers will claim that God assigns and commands angels to care for us. Psalm 91:11 says, “For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways,” and Hebrews 1:14 explains, “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” But do they? This is why I explore the darker side of these supernatural beings. People put their faith in a supposedly higher power they can’t even see, mythical beings, seen only as all good, glorified as holy and loving, but never seen as perhaps just as flawed and vengeful as we are. “My Guardian Angel saved me. My Guardian Angel watched over me.” These are the most popular stories people tell. Those cute little cherubs and kindly-looking figurines and statues in paintings and artwork---that’s all we know about Guardian Angels. Angels were even capable of having human 'desires'. Semyaza was an Angel who descended from heaven and had 'unions’ with human women. In the scriptures, there's Abaddon, the Angel of “destruction”. And Beburoa, another Angel who will be one of several angels to rule over the end of the world. Chamuel is an Angel who is supposed to have authority over the Angels of destruction. This of course means, yes, Angels preside over the end of humanity. So that's kind of a contradiction: Angels are supposedly our protectors, yet there are Angels attributed to presiding over the 'end' of humanity. And of course, who can forget Angel Rebellion? There’s Satan, who refused to follow God’s command to bow down to humanity. So if one Angel rebels, then perhaps they are indeed out there, rebelling against us. Even the Bible warns us about evil Angels: 2 Corinthians 11:14, "Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God" (1 John 4:1). Jesus Was a Vampire and So Were His Angels. ”Jesus was a Vampire, but Jesus was a finicky eater. He chose to drink blood out of a cup. His disciples brought him his food..........Water into blood, into wine...yes, that was a good illusion……” In my book, I mentioned that yes, Jesus and the Angels were Vampires. Just like Elizabeth Bathory, a Hungarian countess who was considered a real-life Vampire, her accomplices brought her victims, her food, to her, by luring victims in. So who isn’t to say that Jesus’s disciples didn’t do the same, and he had them drink blood as well? In my Vampire Guardian Angel™ novels "Dominion" and "Revenant", the Catholic Church knew of the existence of Vampires and hid them and used them as a means to get rid of non-believers. It was easy to take all the sinners and offer them to the Vampires through, say, the Inquisition, with their various torture devices, or self-flagellation by the devout, where the Vampires could come and drink the blood of the faithful, and of the martyrs. Jesus himself probably even partook of the blood of those who sacrificed themselves on his behalf. These were supernatural creatures, so if the Church can Catholicize pagan holidays such as Halloween and Christmas, it is completely possible that they could turn Vampires into Saints and Angels and other Holy Beings that they can convince, or force, people to sacrifice themselves, or even their own loved ones to. Consider this Bible passage: Genesis 22:2,10 : And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest.... And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son…..) The Bible made blood-drinking acceptable in the guise of symbolism, when it can actually be documentation. In fact, there's a lot of passages that suggested the craving for blood and human flesh: "And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat." Leviticus 26:29 "And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters." Deuteronomy 28:53 "And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine." Isaiah 49:26 "And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat every one the flesh of his friend." Jeremiah 19:9 So why would blood be so important in the Bible? The drinking of blood and the eating of flesh? Even Jesus says "Eat my flesh and Drink my Blood. Come to me and never be hungry." Well anyway, I hope no one pulls a "Dan Brown" on me and plagiarizes my work and material and claims them as their own. In the Bible, there are so many references to blood drinking. Angels were killers and there were references to the drinking the blood of the slain. And the blood drinking, I believe, is not just symbolism. A few excerpts: Proof that there were Vampires in the Bible: The Book of Revelations: God sent his angels to destroy man, and his angels drank blood.. Here's the proof: 2 Kings 19:35: "..And the Angel feasted...185,000 men in the camp...Early the next morning, there they were, all the corpses of the dead.". Rev 16:4: "...The third Angel...and blood is what you have given them to drink...". Jhn 6:55: 'For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed...". Num 23;24: ".....and drink the blood of the slain....". Rev 16:6: "....For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets....and thou has given them blood to drink, for they are worthy..." In addition, you've got gory images like self-flagellation--drawing blood for God. One way to show true loyalty and self-sacrifice to the Catholic faith was to draw blood. You've got images and accounts like John the Baptist's head on a platter as an offering. You've got holy bodies rising from the dead, never dying, preserved through enternity, never decaying....hhhhmmmmmmm. So, you have 'sinners' getting killed and I believe this was a way for a Church with such a bloody history to cover up their methods of feeding their supernatural beings who they could call Gods--Vampires. So, if you read my books, you’ll see a whole new side to guardian Angels, to the references to blood in the Bible, to the possible existence of Vampires in the form of Angels, Saints, and even Jesus himself and his disciples. It's easy to just called it symbolism, but do you really know for sure? Those who were targeted and tortured by the Church were those who rejected the doctrine of subsequent resurrection of supernatural, exalted beings, and the Church itself had an obsession with the Devil, and of ridding the world of it. But perhaps—it was also trying to appease it through the blood of men? Crusades were held for the search for the “Blood of Christ” , the blood of the supreme Vampire, the blood of life. Joan of Arc had visions from the Archangel Michael to slaughter men for God. Would the Angels have descended then, and fed? Although the Inquisition may have burned people at the stake (and that was a lot of people) under the excuse that ecclesia abhorret a sanguine -- “The Church shrinks from blood”, their tortures were held in secret, and who knows what creatures they could have sacrificed “heretics” to? The Church was found of torture methods such as flogging to draw blood, or being garroted to death. In addition, the victims were held in dungeons, and in darkness. A 15th century Italian garroting chair had a special restraint for the victim's neck. A sharp point is slowly driven into the back of the neck, drawing blood. And to paraphrase some lines from the 2005 movie “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”, “We can deal with facts, but we must also be open to possibilities.” Serial Killer Guardian Angels are not Vampires, but they can choose to be. Vampire Guardian Angels cannot be killed by stakes through the heart or sunlight. They are celestial in origin, and therefore are immune to crucifixes and holy water. They are referred to as "Guardians". These Guardians sleep in churches, disguised as Guardian Angel statues. Look closely to see if the statues are breathing. Only another Guardian who has turned back to good can kill another Guardian. Vampire Guardian Angels do not bite necks. They slash with swords, knives, or sharp objects. With biting, there's too much struggling involved. They prefer to "Slash first, bite later." They are skilled in martial arts for self-defense.  Q. So why shouldn’t we trust in Guardian Angels? A. Because our lives are miserable enough---don’t you think we make their lives miserable by whining? Q. Why do you think there are evil Angels in the Bible? A. Here are some quotes: Psa 78:49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels [among them]. Mat 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; Now I'm quite sure people fear the wrath of the Angels...and perhaps, they have good reason to. But I don't believe it's for not doing good works or following the Bible....I believe we should be afraid for other reasons that I'm bringing up. Q. What could they really be? Why do you believe Guardian Angels are Vampires? A. Because in the Bible, Angels were killers, and now I believe it was possible that they were even Vampires. They were judge, jury, and executioner. It is possible that they continue to be, on their own free will. Besides, in the Bible, Psa 91:11 quotes "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." But he didn't say HOW they should. And the blood drinking, I believe, is not just symbolism. Q. Why do you believe that Guardian Angels kill us instead of help us? A. It’s called culling the Earth’s population of undesirables, of the weak. Read the news---it’s filled with freak accidents everyday. Guardian Angels have human frailties, egos, and so much supernatural power. Also, they probably think therapy is a waste of time. It’s easier to just get rid of the whiners. Wouldn’t you think that these Guardians wait for the opportunity to push a person in front of a car instead of save them? And we humans end up blaming it on bad luck, but never on the possibility of Guardian Angels with bad intentions? Or that they could just stand there and allow someone to die? There is so much human suffering in the world and mercy killing makes more sense to them, because we choose to ask them for help instead of help ourselves. They can’t keep up, and yes, perhaps this is their way of solving our problems---by destroying us. Q. Aren’t you going a bit too far with this theological assumption? Why would you want to change the way people see their Guardian Angels? A. Can we not question our beliefs, or do we blindly follow dogma? Can we not think that there are things in this world that ARE possible? I’m just presenting an alternative view. The rest is up to whatever people want to believe in. Q. Why do you write about this? What do you want to prove? A. Simply that Guardian Angels may not be as good as people think they are. Mercy Killers. Serial killers. They come in all forms—and in the forms that we least suspect, the ones that are supposedly holy and sacred. You put your blind faith in something that may just be as human as you are, and because my characters are out there, for real. Think about it. People want so badly to believe in a higher power that will save them. The problem is, Guardian Angels were created to serve, and if they rebel, well, there’s the problem. People don’t want to see it that way. They always want a savior. So that’s what makes us so weak and vulnerable---and that’s how Guardian Angels can take advantage of us---or feed on us. Chilling thought. Q. How did you get started in writing this? A. When I was listening to a priest’s sermon in a Catholic Church one Sunday, he talked about Guardian Angels as protectors, who will always come to answer our prayers and help us and save us in our times of need, whether we were suicidal, etc. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up on end and that’s when I began questioning……"Really?"....Well, what if they don’t? What if they’re really doing something else, something much more sinister? We don’t really know what they are, do we? There is a dark side to religious symbolism and figures because yes, everything is based on mythology and the supernatural. Some dogma is pretty traumatic: Ingrained religious guilt, martyrdom, the shedding of blood. A bloody historical past seems a little bit unnerving, but makes for great fiction. So, question everything.—question symbolism, dogma. I’m simply exploring the more fanatical and darker side of beliefs, the things and experiences I grew up with: ingrained guilt, not being allowed or encouraged to question theology, the encouragement of martyrdom, and the wrath of the Angels. When I was a child, churches which contained the bloody imagery of saints and crucifixes were morbid and graphic and bloody and terrifying---Angels with swords that looked vengeful and who were capable of killing people for their sins---it made me question this ever since I was a child---do they have the same psychological frailties and issues as humans do, and are they capable of killing with such weapons? It’s edgy, disturbing, and pushing the boundaries of people’s beliefs. I’m just offering and alternative view. People don’t want to believe that Angels are other than good. They don’t want to question. There are deep dark places people don’t want to go or think about or talk about. That’s where I come in. Q. So what are your Guardian Angel characters like? A. My Serial Killer Guardian Angels ™ could show up at anytime after you pray—in human form, or invisible, or at some point in your life. You may have to rethink some things….did your Guardian Angel really save you from that car nearly plowing into you…..or maybe your Guardian Angel just miscalculated how much of a millisecond it would take for another car to hit you and YOU escaped without even knowing it…and he’s going “Gosh darn it….almost had ‘er!” That’s a disturbing thought. You narrowly escaped because your Guardian Angel was there? No….you narrowly escaped because he just had bad timing on his intent to do you in. Or he wasn't able to finish you off and make it look like an accident, or he failed in his "attempts" to make a suicide successful. But be warned--they will try again. Brings new meaning to "Don't pray in vain, and don't wish you were dead." Because you might just get what you pray for.  My Serial Killer Guardian AngelsTM love to target in particular those people who are suicidal. They'll either physically show up and convince you to end your life--in a very charming, convincing and hypnotic way, of course, or subconsciously make you do it through mind control (You really think you pressed the trigger to the gun to your head on your own? Someone had to prod you along to do it.....), or be quite invisible while you're standing at the edge of a cliff debating whether or not to jump---and gues who gives you that little "push." It's also a plus for the Vampire Guardian AngelsTM because they can feed off the bodies and no one will know the difference, especially if it's a particularly bloody suicide. Yes, I know---I'm warped. But it's an interesting concept. As for the Vampire Guardian Angels ™, they are immune to holy water, sunlight, crucifixes, stakes, and all that traditional how-to-kill-a-vampire stuff. Because they are celestial in origin, nothing “holy” can destroy them. Actually, the only way to destroy them is if another Guardian turns back to good….then it’s the classic good vanquishes evil stuff. You get the picture. Q. So what makes your Guardian Angels and beliefs unique? Some people might say that the “Fallen Angel” theme has been overdone. A. I have a whole new unique view. These are not fallen angels—not all are. They are working guardian angels. They don’t follow God or Satan. They don’t have to be fallen. They don’t even have to be rebellious. They their own rules—how to deal with us and how they choose to answer prayers. They walk among us. They toy with us. And by the number of freak accidents in the world, I would say they do exist. It’s probably their handiwork. |
